We have missed seeing our customers at the annual exhibitions, either in Sigep or Harrogate, as well as the regional events usually held around the UK at this time of year. Some of you will have attended our recent webinar where we introduced some of our new product ranges. It is not quite the same as talking face to face at an exhibition or in the Antonelli Gelato Academy, but at least it gives us an opportunity for some interaction. However we are sure you would really prefer to be tasting the ice cream and gelato rather than just watching videos and looking at pictures. Whilst we are still under Covid-19 restrictions we have to make do with the virtual way.
Why a webinar?
As we all grapple with the technology we have all found that Teams and Zoom is the only way we can keep in contact with not just our business contacts but friends and family all around the nations.
“It was with some trepidation that we embarked on presenting our product range via a webinar format” explains Mark Antonelli, “but we felt compelled to find some way of keeping contact with our customers. There were a few minor technical hitches as you may expect - after all we are masters of ice cream and gelato not IT! However the feedback we received on the chat box was all favourable and we hope to connect with those who attended (and those who didn’t) over the coming weeks and months.”
Here are some of the comments that customers left us on the day.
“Thanks guys I learned a lot”
“Some great products there”
For those of you who missed our presentation you might be pleased to know that we recorded it so you can still watch it by following this link. NB We suggest you watch from about 7 minutes in as the first part is just imagery as people are logging in.
Josef Boni, Antonelli’s Commercial Director and caretaker of customers in Scotland and Ireland, reflects on his first virtual group presentation…
“To be honest I was a bit sceptical about the idea initially. I was concerned we were just going to bore everyone, but actually I genuinely enjoyed talking about our exciting new product range. I look forward to connecting with our Scottish and Irish customers who joined us to gain their feedback on the event.”
The presentation was hosted by our very own Gelato Jonny, who apart from a couple of glitches with the sound whilst the video was running did a great job in keeping the event running smoothly.
“I think the teams’ passion for ice cream and gelato making really came over and flicking between different presenters helped to break up the presentation. I speak for the team when I say we all hope you are excited about our new extended product range as we are and hope to be able to talk to you about them face to face before too long.”
For a quick insight into what we included in our presentation here is a list of some of the topics;
- Mark introduced our new Italian brand partners with a quick overview of their background and philosophy
- He also initiated a brief discussion about bases and the different products now available
- Josef extolled the virtues of our new Simply Add products and why and when to use them
- Jonny enthused about our new Combos range highlighting some personal favourites as well as explaining why we have developed these in the box combinations
- To finish off Jonny also looked at some key product highlights - “we are genuinely excited to share these as they provide our customers across the UK, no matter what level of ice cream making competency, with a wide variety of products from which to choose”
Gary Brooks our presenter on the topic of Customer Support, and who oversees the national sales team and customer services, is pleased to report further positive feedback from many customers. We hope to catch up with many more of you either face to face or virtually as restrictions ease.
