In order to achieve this it is imperative that our whole operation runs under a set of stringent regulations which are adhered to by all staff at all levels. Overseeing the production facility at Weymouth Road, David Antonelli keeps a close eye on what goes in and out of the factory, backed up closely by Production Manager Denver Atherton.
"The only way to maintain high levels of hygiene and safety is to ensure there are no lapses in any of our rules and all the production staff are very mindful of keeping these high standards. It is the first thing any new employee learns and all our office staff also understand what is required in the production areas" explains David. "Therefore it is really of no surprise to us that we passed our SALSA inspection with zero actions."
The SALSA inspector reported "The business operates from suitable premises to an excellent standard. Expertise and experience is evident throughout the site". According to the SALSA website, approval certification is only granted to suppliers who are able to demonstrate to a SALSA auditor that they are able to produce safe and legal food and are committed to continually meeting the requirements of the SALSA standard.
